News of Organic Industry
A study by the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute (vTI) in Braunschweig shows that the majority of organic farms are better placed from an economic viewpoint than comparable conventional farms. The working group led by Dr. Jürn Sanders from the vTI Institute for Business Management has now presented some of its findings in the current issue of the magazine “ResearchReport”. In the institute’s survey, more than half the managers of the organic farms were basically satisfied or very satisfied with the situation on their own farm. 64 % of those interviewed thought their profit would be lower with conventional farming than with organic farm management. Most of the organic farms think they are well equipped for the future. The 52-page ResearchReport 2/2010 focusing on “Innovations for Organic Agriculture” can be downloaded free on the Internet.
