IFOAM EU Congress: Designing the Organic Future

At the 9th European Organic Congress from 11-13 June 2015 in Riga, Latvia, two main topics were on the agenda. The Latvian compromise on the proposal for a new organic regulation  was discussed intensely and as we know by now partly successful. The discussions were not only on the proposal but also on possibilities to use policies for green growth. Designing the organic future and making the vision a reality was begun by workshop groups who started the strategy development based on the launch of the vision at the congress. Members of the European Commission, representatives of the Latvian Presidency and national Ministries of Agriculture, organic leaders, IFOAM EU members and other stakeholders met in Riga, with a total of more than 150 participants.
